About Us
Operating solely on volunteers, Craley Fire Company was formed by 38 men in 1925 as Community Fire Company of Craley PA. It was chartered in March of 1926 and the first fire company was located on Abels Road. The volunteers started with a hand-drawn pump and in 1932, purchased the first motorized piece of equipment. In 1962, the fire company was built at its current home on New Bridgeville Road. The third, fourth, and fifth bays were added years later.
Today, we house four trucks and cover 25.2 square miles in Lower Windsor Township. Our volunteers push the limits with training to be the best we can be, learning the most advanced skills and techniques to prepare us for a wide range of calls. We respond to fires, car accidents, medical calls, gas leaks and even water rescue.
Although we are highly active, Craley is a small department where everyone feels like family. Volunteers can often be found hanging out at the fire house, playing games and eating meals together. We know how to have fun, but are serious when it comes to serving and protecting our community.
There is no better place to gain knowledge and growth, among friends that treat you like family.
